Minerals Nutrition is very vital for our body. Vitamins are important for our body in the same way minerals has its own value, they can do nothing for you without minerals. Vitamins cannot be assimilated without the help of minerals. Although the body can manufacture a few vitamins, it cannot manufacture a single mineral. All tissue and internal fluids contain varying quantities of minerals. Minerals are constituents of the bones, teeth, soft tissue, muscle, blood, and nerve cells. They are vital to overall mental and physical well-being. Minerals act as catalysts for many biological reactions within the body, including, muscle response, the transmission of messages through the nervous system, and the utilization of nutrients in food.


Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Potassium these minerals play a vital roles in normal physiology. A chemical imbalance in these minerals rapidly and easily gives rise to clinical symptoms. Essential elements are defined as those which are necessary for a plant to complete its life cycle, and for which no other element can substitute. An essential element is either a constituent of an essential metabolite or is needed for an enzymatic function. With these elements and sunlight most plants can synthesize all the compounds they require. However, plants always contain other elements, such as Na and Si, which have structural and physiological roles in certain species, but can be "replaced" by other elements. More realistically, we are concerned with mineral nutrition rather than essentiality. The mineral nutrition of a plant is a function of all the elements it contains which participate in metabolism.


• CALCIUM - Builds strong bones and teeth; treats and prevents osteoporosis; important in the maintenance of a regular heartbeat and in the transmission of nerve impulses.
• CHROMIUM - is involved in the metabolism of glucose and is vital in the breakdown of cholesterol, fats, and proteins; maintains stable blood sugar levels through proper insulin utilization.
• IODINE -The thyroid gland adds iodine to the amino acid tyrosine to create thyroid hormone; helps in the functioning of the thyroid gland which regulates the body's production of energy.
